Home » Ministries » Missions & Outreach » Feed Our Kids Feed Our Kids was started by a few moms in conjunction with GRACE to provide lunches to children who are on free or reduced lunch programs during the school year. Every week of summer break, different organizations provide lunch and some recreation time to children in three apartment complexes in the Grapevine/Colleyville school district. Our church participates for one week of the summer.

Feed Our Kids 2012

We have signed on to do our usual "big" week the week of July 9-13.

In addition, we will serve Feed Our Kids at the Shady Oaks site for an additional four weeks beyond our big week in order to continue to build relationships with the Grapevine Village. Those dates are: July 16-20, July 23-27, July 30-August 3, and August 6-10.

Come summertime, you can help with Feed Our Kids by donating or volunteering:

Donations

Visit the Donation Station in the Sanctuary Foyer (both campuses) on Sundays, June 24, July 1 and 8, to find out what donations are needed. We'll need everything from peanut butter and jelly to snack-size chips, pretzels, goldfish and granola bars. Cash donations are also needed to help purchase perishable items.

Fresh Fruit Offering

On Sunday, July 8, there will be a Fresh Fruit offering in support of Feed Our Kids. Please bring any type of fresh fruit and place it in the baskets on the table in the sanctuary foyer. The fruit will be used this summer as our church prepares close to 3,000 lunches during Feed Our Kids weeks.

Volunteers

We will need volunteers to help assemble lunches at 10:30 each morning of Feed Our Kids. And we need people to help deliver the lunches and play with the kids. You can do either or both any day of the week. Sign-ups will be available online and in the church bulletin when it gets closer to time.
