If you were here 3 Lenten seasons ago, you remember we found hundreds and hundreds of ways to get involved helping our neighbors, after having studied the life-changing book The Hole in Our Gospel. One of my nearest and dearest stories is still the relationships we've made with a neighbor who lives "next door" in the Grapevine Housing Authority. Disabled and only in her 50's, her request was to receive help with her laundry. Yes, there is a laundry facility at the top of the hill, but her disability doesn't allow her to carry the weight of the clothes anymore. When our church member pulled the tag and went to meet and gather the laundry, she saw much more need.  So a team was born!  One team member has enjoyed taking her kids to visit too!

Over these years, team members' time commitments have changed and we are now needing to add a few new members! Stephanie Rasmussen is keeping the schedule of the 1-2 hours each month of time you might be able to share by cleaning Barbara's efficiency apartment or by doing her laundry.

I love serving others.  I have gotten more joy out of cleaning that little home and getting to visit with Barbara than I can describe.  She is so appreciative.  Now hear my heart.  I don't like to clean house.  I don't clean my own unless company is coming!  But joy comes in the form of serving others... placing Jesus first, others second and yourself third.  THAT is
J-O-Y!  It is my hope that you too will find that joy, as we continue to keep seeking ways to fill those holes in our gospel!
