Quit lurking and BECOME a shadow! Here's why and here's how! We have several ministries which could be more effective if a few more team members were added to their lists. Perhaps you have time and desire to serve somewhere, but you just are not certain something would be right for you. What if you were to shadow a person already involved in that ministry team's work and see for yourself what all is involved? Here are some random examples:
- Any Monday afternoon shadow someone at Project Fun! You could get some exercise and be a walker with the merry band of kids walking from Cannon Elementary a few blocks up College Street back to our Family Life Center. Or you could arrive here by 3:00 PM and shadow one of the greeters of the kids, or during snack, or story, or craft. Or you could shadow Carmen Drew as she prayerfully plans for the future Mondays. .
- This Saturday morning, if you want to shadow and help a few of our Movers and Shakers go pick up furniture donations that will be used in the GRACE Transitional Housing program, contact Rob Rhoades and shadow them. Contact Rob at
.
- Third grade is my favorite age to teach Sunday school! Nine and ten-year-olds are bright, they like to read and participate and it is always fun! Shadow one of our many teachers and contact Linda McClure at
to learn more.
- Be a shadow of one of our Angel Wings team members who is taking a member to an appointment. Get a feel for what is involved in this Compassion ministry and see how it can fit into your schedule to be an on-call team member. Contact Barbara Evartt at 817-283-0682.
Want to shadow someone, someplace else? Look online at any of the
volunteer opportunities and who that contact person is. Get in touch with them and let them know you are curious and available to give something a try!
